​first china international green food and national soybean industry expo held in harbin-ag凯发旗舰厅

the first china (heilongjiang) international green food and national soybean industry expo kicked off in harbin on nov. 15, 2023.

the expo was jointly hosted by the mara, the china council for the promotion of international trade, and the people's government of heilongjiang province. minister tang renjian delivered remarks via video link. xu qin, secretary of the cpc heilongjiang provincial committee, announced the opening of the expo. liang huiling, governor of heilongjiang province, and erkin tuniyaz, chairman of the xinjiang uygur autonomous region, delivered remarks.  

minister tang renjian pointed out that in the past two years, the mara, together with relevant departments, has intensified efforts to increase soybean and other oil-bearing crop production capacity in china, thus achieving positive results in expanded planting acreage, higher yield, higher output, and solid progress in the selection and breeding of oil-richer and higher-yield varieties.     

however, china is keenly aware that the soybean industry still faces certain weaknesses and challenges. for this reason, it is imperative and urgent to increase soybean production capacity and self-sufficiency rate and deal with challenges to push for the stable development of the soybean industry.    

the expo attracted over 260 exhibitors specializing in the soybean industry from 29 chinese provinces, autonomous regions, or centrally administered municipalities, showing more than 1,400 specialties in eight categories. six deals were signed on site, with the intention for a trading volume of 1.96 million tons of soybean and revenue of 9.2 billion yuan. additionally, soybean investment projects worth 2.7 billion yuan were signed. a symposium, a business matching session, and a promotion event were also held during the expo.
